Dixie considers herself to be an artist of texture as she continues to explore the combined mediums of oil paint, collage and cold wax. Her evolving style speaks of moodiness and tonalism, perhaps matching the times we are living in. Her layers of colors are topped off with scratches, scraps, scrubs and carved marks leading the viewer through the surface texture to the hidden colors and stories below.
